For Canada, the US and most parts of Mexico, ground transportation if favoured. Maritime transport for certain parts of Mexico can also be evaluated. Maritime transport obviously applies for all other intercontinental orders.
For ground transportation, a train will occupy 20 feet of a 53-foot trailer. For maritime transport, a train will fit in a 20-foot container and 2 trains fit in a 40-foot container.
Independently of the transportation method, Wattman takes great care in preparing the train. First we make sure it is spotless, and then we wrap it to ensure it stays clean to the end of its journey.
When loading the train in the trailer or the container, we secure the locomotive and the wagons to the floor. Special steel brackets and nylon fasteners are used and we insert air bags between the walls and the wagons as an added precautionary measure.
